Terms of Service

You must be 18 or older and a verified student with a valid school .edu email. One account per person. You’re responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything that happens under your account.

Hitch introduces you to one curated match at a time and proposes a real-world date. The Love Score is our best estimate of compatibility — a thoughtful prediction, not a promise. We don’t guarantee matches, replies, dates, or outcomes.

• Give accurate information about yourself and use photos that are actually you.
• Treat other members with respect, on and off the app.
• Only share another person’s information with their consent.

• Harass, threaten, demean, or harm any other member.
• Impersonate anyone, or create a profile for someone who isn’t you.
• Spam, solicit, advertise, or run scams.
• Scrape, crawl, or access Hitch with bots or automated tools.
• Collect or post other people’s private information.
• Use Hitch for anything illegal, or attempt to contact minors.

If you act as a matchmaker, only propose people you actually know, and never use the feature to target, expose, or pressure anyone. Invite links are intentionally opaque — don’t try to defeat that. The same respect-and-consent rules apply to everything you do as a matchmaker.

Hitch does not run background checks on members. You decide who to meet and you do so at your own risk — meet in public, tell a friend, and trust your instincts. Use block, report, and the no-show tools whenever something feels off. Confirmed no-shows can lead to a cooldown; repeated or serious violations can lead to removal.

You own the content you add. You grant Hitch a limited license to store and display it solely to operate the service for you (for example, showing your photo to a matched partner). Date selfies are visible only to the two of you and auto-delete after 30 days.

We may suspend or remove an account that violates these terms or threatens others’ safety. You can delete your account and associated data anytime from Settings → Delete account; see our Privacy Policy for what that removes.

Hitch is provided “as is,” without warranties. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hitch isn’t liable for the conduct of any member, for interactions that happen off the app, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

We may update these terms; we’ll change the “last updated” date and, for material changes, give notice in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Questions? Email hello@hitchapp.com.
